THE BRAND - MARIKIT

MARIKIT is a luxury womenswear brand founded in 2018 by Maria Cristina Araviso, who became known by her nickname, Marikit. MARIKIT was born out of her passion and spirit, with an eye for luxury and the finer things in life.

Marikit established her women's fashion brand under her signature, MARIKIT which offers a range of collection of Luxury Ready-to-Wear and Designer dresses. She debuted her first collection in the Philippines, and the brand immediately became one of the most promising in the country for its outstanding quality and craftsmanship, gaining international recognition.

In addition, Marikit introduced the Marikit Araviso label, a Couture Collection and introduced LITTLE MARIKIT – a collection of designer dresses and couture dresses for little girls.

The brand is renowned for its creation of signature pieces that embody a harmonious blend of femininity and sophistication, with meticulous attention to detail and intricate, artisanal designs. MARIKIT utilizes the finest fabrics, focusing on romantic ruffles, delicate embroidery, lace, intricate cut-out details, bustier, corset constructions, brocades, and a captivating array of colors and prints.

Each design of MARIKIT is inspired by the designer’s personal aesthetic, while also embodying the modern woman—confident, empowered, and poised to stand out.

 THE DESIGNER - Marikit Araviso

Marikit Araviso is the Founder and Creative Director of MARIKIT. She was born and raised in the Philippines and has been living and working in the UAE for over 20 years. Her interest in fashion and dressmaking began at a very young age. She wanted to design her own collection and incorporate it into her brand as a way of reflecting her fashion style and who she is.

While continuing to work in the UAE, she decided to pursue her dream and take it to the next level. She went to London and studied short courses in Fashion at the University of the Arts London. She also attended short fashion courses at Esmod Dubai to further hone her skills and aesthetics.

Although she is very happy with what she has achieved in her career, she sometimes thinks she could have entered the fashion business earlier.

As a Creative Director, she oversees the design, material selection, production, as well as the branding and marketing of the brand.
